The water well project for the Mukaa Community and Children's Home is underway.

Representatives from the Nairobi/Hurlingham Rotary Club are due out to the site once again in the near future to make final arrangements for the first phase, which is the actual drilling of the borehole. When drilling has been completed, testing will take place to determine the depth and capacity of the well. These factors will determine the size of the pump, power requirements, and pipe diameter, and greatly assist in the engineering phase.

Kids from the Home enjoy a plate of beans and corn for dinner. They join the community in anxiously awaiting the well and distribution system, as water has been extremely scarce this year, more so than ever before. Water, when available, consists of farm runoff, is often tainted with fertilizers and very dirty.
